The Truck Office is the brain-child of two very creative guys who were sitting around one Sunday afternoon watching the sun sink behind the Rocky Mountains.  Cliff Manning has worked in some facet of the construction business for most of his adult life, and his father-in-law, Roy Morgan was one of the founders of the largest commercial medical helicopter company in the world.  Roy was an active participant in designing many of the medical helicopter interiors in use today, both commercially and by the military.  Cliff said to Roy, “I’ve been thinking about designing and building some kind of storage system to go behind the seat of a pickup, and I think you’d be the right guy to help me with it.”  A month later, in February 2006, a partnership called mobileDUZ was born.

The goal from the start was to build a component system that would fit in most pickups and offer adaptable storage for a variety of uses.  First and foremost, however, for both designers was safety.  Roy, during his piloting years, was involved in several medical transports where serious injury in a vehicular accident was caused by an object flying around the cabin and hitting a passenger in the head or chest.

Securing loose objects in the vehicle cabin was of paramount importance in designing the Truck Office, and Cliff and Roy also wanted to ensure that the unit, itself, would be as immovable as possible.  Next, the men wanted to create an efficient system of organizing paperwork and having access to AC power that would make life easier for anyone who works or plays out of a pickup.

A year of research and development, and over half a million dollars went into creating the first Truck Office.  The unit, which became available for sale in February of 2007, consists of two components.  The base is custom-fitted to the floor plan of the pickup and uses the same attach points the rear seat used.  This design allows a uniquely secure, tight fit to the floor of the pickup.  The main component is universal and will fit most full-size pickups.  It offers a huge amount of storage in its drawers and latching, covered compartments making it the safest, in-cab, storage system on the road today.

mobileDUZ is currently 100% family owned and completely debt free.  We are proud to say that our engineering, molds, manufacturing and assembly are 100% “Made in the USA” and we will endeavor to keep it that way.  Our offices and warehouse/assembly plant are located in Castle Rock, Colorado where we work every day to bring you more products to increase the in-the-field office capability of all pickups.
